Two friends of my bought this building which sat on a slight rise cut out of a hill, like nearly every other project in our Catskills. However this slope was fairly gentle and only involve a 3 foot grade change. The owners wanted the landscaping to be out of the ordinary, not really flowery and low maintenance. Right up my alley. Since I love using boulders, this was perfect opportunity for a boulder retaining wall and a lot of conifers and grasses with a few perennials and shrubs. This garden is nearly entirely planted with native plants as well.
